HTC To Enter The Monster-Sized Handset War In India With One Max

Posted on 01:03 by Unknown
With the over flow of Android handsets that seems to be flooding the smartphone market, it is difficult to find a footing in this arena. With brands such as Samsung going after larger-than-life handsets, its HTC's turn to try its luck as well. The company has announced the launch of HTC One Max for Rs 56,000 along with two accessories, which includes the HTC One MiniPlus worth Rs 5000 and Phone Finder that will set you back by Rs 2500. It is expected to be available in the market by next week. For those not in the know, here is a quick look at its specs:
  • 5.9" Full-HD 1080p screen; 373 ppi.
  • QualcommSnapdragon 600, 1.7GHz quad-core CPU.
  • Android 4.3 with HTC Sense 5.5, HTC BlinkFeed.
  • 16/32 GB internal storage, microSD card support up to 64 GB.
  • 2 GB RAM.
  • HTC UltraPixel Camera, BSI sensor, Pixel size 2.0 µm, Sensor size 1/3', Dedicated HTC ImageChip 2, f/2.0 aperture and 28 mm lens, Smart Flash with five levels of flash automatically, 1080p Full HD video recording with HDR video and 2.1 MP front camera with Full-HD recording.
  • 3300 mAh battery non-user replaceable battery.
  • NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5 mm audio jack, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 with MHL for USB, or HDMI, Fingerprint scanner.
As older versions of the OS struggle to fully optimise high-end hardware, OEMs are looking at tapping emerging markets. HTC and Samsung have already wet their feet in the Windows Phone market, with not-so-appealing results. However, looking at the way Nokia has grown in the area, Smartphone maker HTC is said to be re-entering the segment with newer models. Last year, the Taiwanese manufacturer introduced the 8S and the 8X, and both models "have reached the end of their life", reports Business Standard.
The brand suggested that it is "evaluating various options and we will launch new products based on its platform". So while there is no clear deadline as to when these will see light of day, you can expect Windows-based tablets too. How it will help the brand turn tides, only time will tell.
